an irish inspiration

"It's not uncommon to serve potatoes three or four different ways.
Boiled, mashed, and fried--all in the same meal."
-Margaret Johnson
The author of seven Irish cookbooks has just spoken directly to my heart. When I eat out, I want to order ALL the potato combination sides. Because I care about my health, I deny myself. Wouldnt it be nice to indulge, just one time in such starchy bliss?! Maybe I'll make french fries, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, and garlic-roasted potatoes for dinner. Dare I?

this sweet hour

"I am gone into the fields,
to take what this sweet hour yields...
Expectation, too, be off!
Today is for itself enough."
-P.B. Shelley

I havent been here in a while. I am only stopping in to say, "Hi and I am sorry" because I do not have creative energy-or even just plain old energy- to write, wit, remark, or entertain you. I apologize for the delay but please know that we are alive. I am doing well- just very very tired and pouring all of my left-over energy into an hour or two with Brandon at night.

Miss you though. I have not abandoned you forever.

Peace to you.

i stole a poem

its a formulatic poem: insert this type of word here: but it was therapeutic in my sore throat/ pink eye hazy state. enjoy.

I am intricate and passionate
I wonder how blue a sky can really be
I hear the whispers of faeries
I see their dance in the trees
I want to join them in the world of shadow
I am intricate and passionate

I pretend I am the wind
I feel enlightened and secretive
I touch the face of a poppy
I worry one day they will all die and
I cry when hope is crushed
I am intricate and passionate

I understand my Creator is love
I say His love to others
I dream of finding Him in a field, in a tree, in a flower
I try to remember to look for Him as
I hope the faeries continue to whisper
I am intricate and passionate

and Thanks, Jana for the formula. sorry I stole it.

Harborview

Please keep in mind that we are living with my aunt. Because of this, our bedroom is crowded, cluttered, and looks like a mutation of my homes in the past with a bed and breakfast. But, as has been requested, I will show the world where we live now. The house is a decent size, the bathroom and kitchen are large, and the views... oh the views! We are having fun living with Lydia watching the olympics, the news, movies and more... but if it werent for the view, I don't know if I could handle the room. Enjoy!

And in case you missed it, click on this image- see the water and the dock. We have dock access- perfect spot for a Spring/ Summer night's glass of wine and leisure chat. In the image it looks far away, but out our window, its right there. Also, the first image is my view when sitting on my couch looking up into the trees. Not too shabby, eh?
