Post Six: Hope and Trust

a way through

Redemption is our sin, our slavery, our debt PAID by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
If He has done this, surely, we can trust Him with all else.

Question of the week:
Why is it our human nature, amidst tragedy, to go first to feeling abandoned rather than redeemed?

  1. I came across this quote by Oswald Chambers last night that struck me:

"The disposition of sin is not immortality and wrong-doing, but the disposition of self-realization- I am my own God...When our Lord faced men will all the forces of evil in them, and men who were clean living and moral and upright, He did not pay any attention to the moral degradation of the one or to the moral attainment of the other; He looked at something we do not see, the disposition."

According to Chambers, we "begin to get the seal of damnation" when we realize Jesus Christ came to deliver us from sin, but refuse to let Him do so.

    Pretty powerful stuff.

  2. It's always a pleasure to pass by your blog... I appreciate it too much.

Also interesting is the comment from Kelly... "when we realize Jesus Christ came to deliver us from sin, but refuse to let Him do so".

I'm praying I don't let this though get through my life.

    Blessings!
