taters and tea

Sundays at the Loy home are quiet, restful, and lazy days. After church and after post- church meetings and after lunch with friends, I normally get to take a nice fat nap at some point. It is a Sunday afternoon ritual from my Hammes days that I just cant shake. Brandon normally watches football. Every now and then we will go to a movie, or on a hike, or shopping in Greenville. You would think that being home for hours, I'd be inspired to cook for dinner. Au contrare! I rarely make dinner on a Sunday evening. And so, Brandon and I eat cereal or instant mashed potatoes (the horror!) or ramen or popcorn. It is my unintentional day-of-rest from cooking and from worrying about serving three square meals a day.

Tonight, its blackcurrent tea with cheesy mashed potatoes for me and hot chocolate with cereal for Bran. This really is quite the scandal.
